We invite you to two performances of an unusual open-air production prepared especially for Muzeum Wnętrz in Otwock Wielki — a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw. The play premiered last September, and the production received a distinction in the category “Best open project” in the 15th edition of the competition “Mazovian Museum Events — The Willow”.
This year’s performances are planned for 28 August (Saturday) and 4 September (Saturday) at 6.00 pm.

“Palace intrigues — an ENCORE” is a cloak-and-dagger play in which threads of love, betrayal and high politics intertwine. The action is based on historical events that took place in the palace at Otwock Wielki at the beginning of the eighteenth century. The palace then belonged to the Bieliński family, and the beautiful Marianna née Bielińska Dönhoffowa (played by Magdalena Herman-Urbańska), daughter of the owner of the Otwock estates, Grand Chamberlain of the Crown Kazimierz Ludwik Bieliński (Krzysztof Nowik) and Ludwika Maria née Morsztyn (Ewa Kabsa), became the official mistress of King Augustus II the Strong (Tomasz Kowol). The king met Marianna in the palace at Otwock. In the play this acquaintance is accompanied by dramatic and comic circumstances, caused by those present in the palace: Marianna’s friend Aniela Wiladowska (Bożena Furczyk), the courtier, a Frenchman, Scypion de Saint-Alban (Maciej Łysakowski), and the king’s aide-de-camp, the Saxon Matthias von Rippe (Damian Kamiński).

In form the production refers to Baroque spectacles in which, besides the actors’ playing, special effects, dance, music and light played an important role. They will not be lacking in “Palace intrigues — an ENCORE”: the action will be set against the beautiful façades of the palace, one of the best-preserved Baroque magnate residences in Mazovia, and a firework display is planned for the finale. The actors are accompanied by music of the period, performed live by musicians of the “Kama Grott Ensemble”, associated with the OtwArte Foundation for the Promotion of Culture from Otwock. The author of the play is the journalist and writer Andrzej Klim.

Cast
Aniela Wiladowska – Bożena Furczyk: theatre, film, television and voice actress, narrator. A graduate, among other schools, of the State Higher Theatre School in Wrocław and the Academy of Film and Television in Warsaw. An actress associated, among other stages, with Szczecin: Teatr Polski, Opera at the Castle, Piwnica przy Krypcie, Teatr 13 Muz and Polish Radio Theatre. She has appeared in productions including “The Servant of Two Masters” directed by Edward Wojtaszek, “The Stormy Life of Lazik Roitshvantz” directed by Jan Szurmiej, “The Dresser” directed by Wojciech Solarz, “Crime and Punishment” directed by Edward Żentara, “The Wedding” directed by Janusz Józefowicz, and “The Crucible” directed by Jacek Bunsch. Principal films: “Braciszek” dir. Andrzej Barański, “Botoks” dir. Marianna née Bielińska Dönhoffowa – Magdalena Herman-Urbańska: theatre, film and voice actress and dancer. A graduate of the State Higher Theatre School in Kraków. She completed the Karol Kurpiński State Music School in Warsaw in the cello class. Professionally associated, among other theatres, with the National Stary Theatre in Kraków and Teatr Polski in Warsaw. She has appeared in the series “Przyjaciółki”, “Stulecie Winnych”, “Echo serca”. She has dubbed characters in more than 70 films, including “Sisi: The Young Empress”, “The Powerpuff Girls”, “Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz”, “Hotel Transylvania”, “Christopher Robin”.

Ludwika Maria née Morsztyn Bielińska – Ewa Kabsa: singer, actress, teacher. A graduate, among other schools, of the Academy of Music in Katowice (Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music), the Halina and Jan Machulski Acting School in drama as a twenty-first-century teaching method, and Romance philology at the Faculty of Foreign Philology of the University of Silesia. Professionally associated with Teatr Rozrywki in Chorzów, Teatr Polski in Szczecin and Piwnica przy Krypcie there, and the Jewish Theatre in Warsaw. She collaborates with the choir of the National Opera. Her repertoire includes songs to texts by Polish poets, composed by Adam Opatowicz, Harald Kabsa and Marek Jasiński. She sings works by Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Charles Aznavour, Gilbert Bécaud, Juliette Gréco, Barbara, and songs from old Montmartre.

Matthias von Rippe – Damian Kamiński: theatre and film actor. A graduate of the Theatre Academy in Warsaw — the faculty in Białystok. Professionally associated with the “Guliwer” Puppet Theatre in Warsaw. He has appeared, among other series, in “Klan”, “M jak Miłość”, “Na sygnale”, “Na Wspólnej”, “W rytmie serca”.

Augustus II the Strong – Tomasz Kowol: theatre and television actor. A graduate of the State Higher Theatre School in Wrocław. Professionally associated with the Guliwer Puppet and Actor Theatre in Warsaw. He has appeared in productions including “Candide, or Optimism” dir. P. Aigner, “The Emperor’s New Dictionary”, dir. P. Szumiec, “Moominsummer Madness”, dir. J. Polewka, “Tristan and Isolde” dir. B. Ciosek, “A Ball at the Opera”, dir. K. Abrahamowicz. He has appeared in the series “Na Wspólnej”, “O mnie się nie martw”, “Barwy szczęścia”, “Bodo”, “Na dobre i na złe”.

Scypion de Saint-Alban – Maciej Marek Łysakowski: theatre and film actor, presenter, therapist, teacher of acting and voice placement and of kundalini yoga. A graduate, among other schools, of the State Higher Theatre School in Wrocław and the Schauspielschule REDUTA in Berlin. Professionally associated with Teatr Polski and Kabaret przy Krypcie in Szczecin, Teatr Polonia and Och-Teatr in Warsaw, theatre stages in Germany (Berlin, Halle, Darmstadt) and Polish Radio Theatre and German MDR. Principal productions: “Crime and Punishment” (dir. Edward Żentara), “40°C Pflegeleicht” (dir. Joerg Menke-Peitzmeyer), “Zack, Zack, Zack” (dir. Ronny Marzillier), “Hochwasser” (dir. Tom Wolter). Kazimierz Ludwik Bieliński – Krzysztof Nowik: theatre, film and television actor. He completed the Ludwik Solski State Higher Theatre School in Kraków. An actor of the Groteska Puppet and Mask Theatre in Kraków, the Aleksander Węgierko Theatre in Białystok, Teatr Polski in Warsaw and the National Theatre in Warsaw. He has appeared, among other films, in “Marie Curie” directed by Marie Noëlle, “W klatce” directed by Barbara Sass, “Akwarele” directed by Ryszard Rydzewski, and in the series “07 zgłoś się”, “M jak Miłość”, “Na dobre i na złe”, “Klan”, “W rytmie serca.”
