Classics on deckchairs — promenade concerts at Muzeum Wnętrz is the ninth season of chamber concerts with an attractive repertoire of classical, film and jazz music, organised by the OtwArte Foundation for the Promotion of Culture at Muzeum Wnętrz in Otwock Wielki. The programme includes recitals and chamber concerts with outstanding soloists and chamber musicians. We shall hear works by legendary composers from the Baroque to the present day, interpreted both by established artists such as the Prima Vista String Quartet and the bassoonist Grzegorz Dąbrowski, and by young, prize-winning virtuosi such as the pianist Kacper Kukliński.

The guiding theme of this year’s edition is musical spaces — in both an emotional and a performance sense. Music allows us to express emotions and thoughts, and to tell stories, creating distinctive spaces in the imagination. Musical spaces also refer to elements such as harmony, melody and rhythm, forming a unique sound landscape.

Classics on deckchairs is intended to popularise high culture in a new, more approachable form. It is a rare opportunity to spend a summer afternoon in less formal surroundings, encountering high culture in a relaxed atmosphere on deckchairs or picnic blankets. Promenade concerts have a rich tradition around the world and take place outdoors on summer weekend afternoons. Because of the variety of musical genres and the universality of the programme, the event is addressed to all age groups. Whole families are particularly encouraged to take part.

We invite you to musical afternoons on summer Sundays, from 29 June to 31 August this year (except 17 August), traditionally at 5.00 pm.

In the event of bad weather the concerts will take place in the palace ballroom.
